Fine Art

They live in our neighbourhoods and go to our schools. They dine at our local cafes and walk their dogs along the same river as we do. But their imagination, their ability to express themselves, sets them apart.

Explore these pages and meet the Creative Giants of Palmerston North, New Zealand. They excel in fine art, music, performance and the written word. Some were born here; some stopped by for a little while; some settled here to grow their career, raise a family or complete a degree.

Creative Giants are artists whose talent reaches far beyond the city limits. Some take a bow on the world stage, the names of some are household words. If you don't see your favourite Giant, let us know. You may also want to check out Palmerston North Community Arts to discover more of our local talent.

Our Creative Giants are as varied as their art. But they have one thing in common: their genius transforms our lives and transforms Palmerston North.
