Identifying reliable sites to bet on

The online gaming and betting industry does not pass a lot of trust. If this is also your impression, it is normal that you take a step back before entrusting your money to these sites. That's normal. Most New Zealanders wonder, before they start playing, if this is a safe activity. Naturally, the first step is to investigate.

On the other hand, do extensive research on the websites of casino games and online betting can take a lot of time, and players hardly want to waste time comparing each option. They want to play and preferably win.

With that in mind, our reviews bring you all the information you need to better compare the sites and decide where to put your time and money. All the reviews we have written address the following factors in detail:

  • Licensing and auditing;
  • Security of user information;
  • Online reputation, i.e. site user reviews;
  • Gaming and betting Software;
  • Types and quantity of games;
  • User service and communication channels;
  • Bonuses and promotions available;
  • Speed, design and information;
  • Loyalty program and other advantages.

At the end of each review, we give a score for the site, which is the average of the partial score for each of the factors listed above. To read our reviews, go to the main menu of the site in the upper right corner, where you will find the “Reviews”tab. Here you can find all the reviews we've done.

Everything you need to know to start placing football bets online

When you place bets on football, what is your number one goal? And don't say it's winning, as that would be too obvious. Of course, all bettors want to win their bets, but their number one goal should be something else: to make accurate guesses. The best (and only, in fact) way to win bets on football matches (and any other sport, by the way) is to make accurate guesses based on your knowledge of the event. If you really want to learn how to bet like a pro, “kicking " the result is out of the question.

In this way, focusing on this goal makes winning certain, regardless of the market you are betting on. If you are going to bet that such a team will win a championship, you need to make a correct guess about how likely it is that it will win all the necessary matches. If you are going to bet that another team will fall to the second division, you need to have correct guesses about how likely it is that this team will be in the last positions of the championship.

The truth is that football betting is not as simple as it sounds. If they were, we'd all be rich without having to leave home. Basically, to understand football betting and get along you need to know a lot about the sport and understand all the variables that play an important role in the outcome of a match. In addition, you need to hit the probability of your guess working out, and have a good eye to take advantage of bets with high value.

Only with constant study, plenty of research and available time is it possible to profit in the long run with football betting. But do not be discouraged! We all know that it is not easy to predict the outcome of a game – the odds are not like a game of heads or tails and not like a give - there is simply too much going on at the same time.

It is almost impossible, in fact, to accurately predict all possible outcomes in a football match, since there are many variables to consider. What you can do is sort the most relevant factors of a given match and evaluate the possible outcomes from there.

We now proceed to some basic concepts that are necessary for placing football bets. Be sure to carefully read and understand each of them before setting off on the strategies.

Football betting modalities

Bingo is a fairly easy game of chance to play, be it the free bingo , be bingo worth money. The rules of the game are simple and its operation is even simpler. The different types of bingo and online bingo are divided according to the number of balls. There are four modes: bingo with 30, 75, 80 and 90 balls. Learn a little more about the different types of online bingo games below.

Single bet (Moneyline)

There are hundreds of football matches taking place every week, and betting on the final result of a match is the simplest and most widely used method of placing football bets. It is also, not coincidentally, the easiest way to place a bet. There are several ways to bet on the final result of a game, but here we bring the main one, which you will find on all betting sites: the moneyline.

Let's say Team A and Team B play a match tomorrow. There are, overall, three possible outcomes to this event:

  • Team A wins.
  • Team B wins.
  • The two tie.

To place a single bet, it is enough for the player to choose a winner for the match, or bet on a draw. It's that simple. The odds and payout of the bets vary, of course, according to the favorite teams and their situation within the championship in question. Generally, betting on the least favorite team (the “underdog”) pays more, and betting on the favorite team pays less.

Total (Over / Under)

The bet on the total is also quite easy to understand. All you have to do is predict whether the total number of goals at the end of the match will be higher or lower than the betting site predicted.

In this case, the betting site it will select a total number of goals for the football match, and then you can choose if you think the sum of the score will be above (over) or below (under) that number. For example, if in the match the betting site says that both teams will score a total of 2 goals, you can bet that they will score more or less than that.

The variety of options you can have with a total bet decides how much risk you take. For example, if you are sure that there will be at least three goals in that match, you can bet on an over of 2.5, but the safest bet would be an over of 1.5.

In totals Bets, all options are given with half a goal (0.5, 1.5, 2.5, etc.) to avoid the possibility of a bet being tied. So either she wins or she loses.

Point spread (Handicap)

If you have found everything so far quite easy, it is now that things get a little more complicated. In football, it is possible to place bets with point spread, more called in football as handicap, which determines by how many goals a team will win the match. The point spread then means the number of goals that the betting site determines according to the odds of the outcome of the match. Usually, it will go with a negative or positive sign before the number of goals, such as international (-1) vs. Grêmio (+1).

The negative sign is used when the team is the favorite to win, indicating the number of goals the site thinks it will score (in the case above, one). In this case, if you bet on the favorite team, it must win with a difference of one goal or more for you to win the bet. If Internacional wins with only one goal difference from Grêmio, you lose the bet. If he wins by two goals or more, you win the bet.

Simply put, if you bet on the International (-1) vs. Gremio (+1) game and decided that the former would win, three possibilities can occur:

  • If Internacional wins by 2 or more goals, you win the bet.
  • If Internacional wins by exactly 1 goal, you lose the bet.
  • If there is a tie or Grêmio wins, you lose the bet.

That is, the purpose of betting handicaps is to grant teams extra goals or deduct them only for the time of the bet. Many sites allow you to choose how many goals are given or subtracted from the scenario and calculate the odds depending on your choice.

Types of bets offered

In addition to the football bets mentioned above, there are other more specific betting possibilities, such as betting on which player will score the last goal of a match, or betting on what the score of the game will be in the interval between the first and second half. These are pretty straightforward bets that are easy to make, but more complicated to get right.

Asian Handicap

This type of bet is similar to the handicap, but with some specific differences. The asian handicap takes the draw out of the possibilities, making the football match a 50/50 probability of outcome. For this, the BET also "gifts" goals to the teams. The favorite team “loses "goals, while the underdog “gets" goals.

This bet is a bit more complex than the others, but once you understand how it works, it becomes easier.

Proposition

Proposition bets can also be called "side bets". These are bets placed within a match but which have no bearing on the outcome of the match. Complicated? We give an example: various betting sites offer the following proposition bets:

  • First team to score a goal in the match;
  • Exact moment of the first goal;
  • Specific player who scores a goal;
  • Penalties won, among others.

As you can see, this type of BET has nothing to do with which team will win the game. These bets are targeted at “weekend bettors” as they are harder to predict and more exciting. With a few exceptions, this is not the type of bet that the professional bettor seeks.

Future

This type of bet is not about specific football matches, but about the outcome of entire championships. For example, at the beginning of the New Zealand Championship, football betting sites can open bets for you to choose who will be the champion of the year, even if the result is very far away.

Almost all major football championships are quite competitive, so it is almost impossible to predict the winner unless there is a large disparity in quality between the teams. In addition, this type of BET takes a long time to pay, so we do not recommend it.

Live football betting

Live football betting involves placing bets on matches that are currently happening. This greatly changes the act of betting: instead of having to predict what will happen before the game starts, you can watch part of the event and then make your betting decision based on the performance of the teams and the current score. This gives the bettor more information to work with, which can result in more correct predictions. In this way, do live betting it is one of the best means of ensuring good guesses.

Live betting also allows you to make other types of "side bets", such as:

  • Next team to score a goal;
  • Next player to score a goal;
  • Exact moment of the next goal, among others.

How to read football betting odds

We cannot confuse the odds with the dollar (NZD) odds of an event happening. Probability (if you need a reminder from math lessons) is a real number between 0 and 1 that represents the chances of something happening. The 0 or 0% means that the event has no chance of happening, while the 1 or 100% means that it is certain that it will happen.

The odds used in sports betting , on the other hand, express the probability of the event happening versus the probability of the event not happening. This means that the odds are not always an accurate view of the odds of the outcome of the game.

Odds can be the most confusing part for novice bettors as they come in various formats. Football betting odds are usually written in decimal, Fraction or moneyline mode. The latter is generally used in the United States, and carries the positive or negative sign in front. Check it out below:

  • Decimal: 1.10
  • Fraction: 1/10
  • American (US): +1000

Different websites will offer different odds for the same event as they are influenced by various factors. We further explain the odds and how to interpret them in our guide on how to do well in sports betting. If you want to know more, visit it!

Learning to analyze a match

We are not going to dwell too much here on how the bettor should learn to analyse a match before placing their bet, as we have covered this extensively in another guide, called How to win at football betting. But it is always good to remember some basic rules of football betting for beginners.

The first is to analyze the match. This is key to placing your bets more accurately. You need to know the teams in play, the players, their positions in the Championship, among other things. The most important ones follow below:

  • Current state of the team : This is a great indicator of how the team will fare in the next match. It can enlighten us on how well (or poorly) the team is playing at the moment. To check the current state of the team, look for specialized sites that publish this type of information (usually a table with other information together).
  • Playing style : Unlike the state of the team, which is tangible statistical information, the style of play is a more interpretive factor. It is difficult to measure how much the style of play will impact the outcome of a match, but professional bettors take the time to watch the games and understand how the team plays to measure this factor.
  • Home and away games : Football teams tend to do better when they play in their own stadium, for numerous factors. This is no secret, and betting sites usually adjust the odds by giving a certain advantage to the home team.
  • Suspensions and injuries : This is quite obvious too, but it is still important to mention here. Any team suffering from injuries or suspensions can change the course of the game. But be careful when measuring the impact of suspensions and injuries, as you must consider which players are missing, who they will be replaced by, if they are, and how important they are to the team as a whole.

These are just some of the points that the bettor should be aware of before placing his bet on a football match. There are many others, which the bettor will realize as he delves into the subject.
