About Lottoland New Zealand

Lotteries have universal appeal. Everyone, at some point in life, has imagined what it would be like to win an amazing prize in the lottery. Lottoland caters to the public who likes to bet on lotteries and who likes to do it with practicality, that is, completely online, without leaving home. On the Lottoland New Zealand website, New Zealand players can bet on a wide variety of lotteries from around the world.

Lottoland was founded in 2013, is based in and licensed to operate as an online gambling website by the government of Gibraltar. Gibraltar is a small European peninsula under the rule of the United Kingdom, which is home to many online gambling giants. Its standards and regularization processes are one of the most advanced in the online gaming industry.

Today, Lottoland operates on four continents and offers dozens of lotteries from around the world for players to bet on. From New Zealand, we access Lottoland easily as it is available in English and accepts New Zealand players, who generally love to test their luck in lottery games. In this guide we will make a complete evaluation of the Lottoland Lottery website, covering important points of the service provided, such as the security of the site and customer service. Enjoy and learn more about Lottoland before you register!

Security

The New ZealandCasinos team reviews online casinos, sports betting sites and online lotteries based on several important aspects to be able to consider them safe and reliable to users. We are well aware that security is a key factor for New Zealand players when betting money online, which is why we have made it a central point of our reviews and our game guides as well. To evaluate the security and reliability aspects of a lottery site or online casino, we look at the following points:

  • The site must have a license to operate as online casino or betting and Lottery site;
  • The site must have technologies to ensure the security of users, such as SSL security certificate;
  • The site must have technologies to ensure the security of users, such as SSL security certificate;
  • The site should be evaluated by independent auditing companies on a regular basis, who test and evaluate whether the games are being operated through a random number generator.
  • The site should have good user reviews for consumer service and payment policy.

Is Lottoland reliable?

Lottoland carries a license from the Gibraltar Regulatory Authority, which it makes a point of repeating many times on its official website. It is audited by an independent firm, KPMG International, and also claims to have an insurance agreement with Lloyds Bank, an international bank that guarantees Lottoland will have funds to cover the giant lottery prizes.

Another proof of the company's seriousness is that it is part of the Gibraltar Betting and Gaming Association, which aims to ensure a safe, fair and transparent gaming environment in online gambling companies and sites. That is why the GBGA works with the government bodies responsible for the regulations and licensing of casinos and online gambling sites to prevent fraud and present the best possible options to players. Large companies such as Betfair and Bet365 are also part of that organization.

Lottoland does not work like other online lottery sites. Most lottery sites buy the lottery ticket for the player, and then he will be competing in the official lottery. However, Lottoland does not do this. What it does is called “lotto betting". On Lottoland's own page, the company explains how lotto betting works: by betting on Lottoland, you are not buying a ticket from the official lottery it sells (such as, for example, the PowerBall). The bets that Lottoland offers are completely independent and separate from the official lotteries. When betting on Lottoland, the player is actually betting on the numbers that will come out in the official lotteries, but if they win, the prize is not paid by the official lottery, but by Lottoland.

To make this clearer, we give you an example: if you bet on the American Powerball lottery through Lottoland and match all the numbers, who will pay your prize is Lottoland, not PowerBall. This is because you didn't bet directly on the PowerBall (nor could you – only Americans can bet on the Powerball), you placed your bet on Lottoland. The payment of large prizes such as those accrued by the big lotteries of the world is thus at the discretion of Lottoland, which does not act “legally” within New Zealand and, if by Chance the consumer is injured by the company, he will have no one to complain to. The company assures that it will pay the prizes due – prizes equivalent to that of official lotteries – but we do not know if this really happens.

It is important to differentiate what Lottoland offers – which is a bet on the outcome of a certain lottery – from Dollar (NZD) lotteries, which actually collect the jackpots and draw the numbers, as this is not always clear to players. When passing their eyes through the Lottoland website, most players think that they are betting on the real Lottery, be it national or international, and this is far from reality.

Is the Lottoland website safe?

In order to be able to pay the huge prizes of the largest lotteries in the world, Lottoland claims to have financial insurance that guarantees its funds and the feasibility of paying the prizes. In addition to being regulated by the government of Gibraltar, Lottoland also operates in the United Kingdom, Ireland, New Zealand, Australia and other countries. Therefore, it is also regulated by government agencies in each of these countries, which ensures, in theory, that the site is safe and the company is serious and has the financial conditions to pay its users. However, Lottoland is not regularized in New Zealand, which can make troubleshooting difficult for New Zealand players.

Regarding the security of users ' data, Lottoland follows the minimum encryption standards required to be able to carry out online money transactions. Your data is secure through an SSL technology, which encodes all information entered on the site by users and leaves them impenetrable to third parties. Lottoland also has a credit card data protection system and a PCI DSS (Payment Card Industry data security standard) certificate.

Deposit methods

Estimated times to process deposits vary, and there is no information on the website about what is the expected and normal time for the company to identify your deposit. There are, however, many complaints from users who report that deposits take up to weeks to be credited, which is quite slow and can detract from the game experience. The company should definitely pay more attention to this detail.

However, for payments of high amounts, a Lottoland financial professional will contact the user in order to verify the best way to make this payment. Usually the payment process takes a week to complete.

At the time of making the withdrawal, the website will ask you for your bank and personal data: bank name, branch, account, CPF and full name. User experience and mobile casino

The navigation on the Lottoland website is very easy, intuitive and it is possible to find everything you want very easily. The main lotteries available – Keno 24/7, quinoa, Mega Sena, EuroMillions, KeNow, PowerBall and MegaMillions – are always visible at the top of the page. Next, it is possible to open the remaining lotteries.

The answer button is in the right corner, and is also always visible. In the footer of the page, the user finds the site Map, including The Help section, the terms and conditions, the Privacy Policy, the other Lottoland websites, among others. The site works quickly and we had no problem loading the pages or placing bets. Navigation is also made easier because the site is well translated into New Zealand English.

Desktop / Browser

In the browser, the Lottoland website is quite fast and functional. Choose the lottery you want to play and place your bet. Of course, you must have registered and made a deposit before. Deposits at Lottoland usually take a long time to process, so take the waiting time into account.

iPhone / iPad

The Lottoland app for iOS devices is exclusively in English, which may make it difficult for New Zealand players to access. According to the website, it is possible to place bets directly in the application. To access the app, just pick it up from the App Store and download it, as it is free. There is also the option to access the site directly from your mobile device browser, as it is fully adapted for mobile, which makes browsing fast. On the website of Lottoland New Zealand, you will not find any information about their applications, precisely because they are not available in English.

Android

The application for android is available in the Play Store for free, you just have to look for it. However, in this application it is not possible to place bets, just check your account and the results of lotteries. So, as you can see, there is not much use in it.

Live casino

Since Lottoland is a website primarily aimed at lotteries, it does not offer live casino games. If that's your interest, check out our casino and betting site reviews from the main menu.

Customer service – Lottoland New Zealand

Lottoland customer service is available in English via the online support page and via email. By clicking on The “Help” option in the footer of the site, the user is directed to a site with a number of Frequently Asked Questions. If your question persists after reading the FAQ, you can fill out a form with name and email and send your question right there.

On the website, support is always available in the right corner of the screen, with the “Customer Support”button. By clicking there, a pop-up window opens so that the player can send an email to the attendants. No other service channel is available.

Our evaluation and the evaluation of other users for the Lottoland service is not good. Usually, the company takes a long time to respond to messages, this when it does not completely ignore the complaints of the players.

Lottoland Lottery Summary

In short, before registering, players may be wary of betting on Lottoland, after all, there are some one-off complaints and The New Zealand site definitely does not offer as many game options as the international sites.

At the end of our review, the question remains: Has anyone ever won at Lottoland? The answer is positive. You will find many reviews from users who have won multiple cash prizes on Lottoland. However, you will also find complaints from users who won huge jackpots and did not receive their prize.

In view of both cases, we recommend betting small amounts of money on Lottoland. If you win and get your prize right, great! If not, contact the site, which is the only thing the player can do, as the company does not follow any regulations in New Zealand territory and is therefore not bound to follow our laws.

Positive points

  • Fully English-language website, including customer support channels
  • For those who like to bet on the lottery, the site makes it easy to make the games and see the results, after all, you don't have to leave your home

Negative points

  • Could have more withdrawal options
  • Deposit processing takes several days and can even exceed a week
  • Customer service is quite slow
  • There are complaints from New Zealand users who have won and not received their prize
  • It could have an application for mobile devices, although the site works very well in its mobile version
  • Could offer gaming options on New Zealand website
  • The site often does not make it clear that players are not betting on the real lotteries, but rather betting on an independent lottery that has no relation whatsoever to the official lotteries

The biggest problem with Lottoland is not specifying, with all the letters, that it is not a real lottery but an independent lottery unrelated to the official ones. When I entered the site and bet I blindly believed that it was a lottery registered in New Zealand, official and everything else, I was mistaken, it's not about that at all. The good point is that the whole site is in English, so the gameplay is good, even with this “problem” of omission of information.

Positive
The site being in English helps New Zealand players a lot!
Negative
Not making it clear that we are betting on independent lottery is boring and I fell into this mistake.

Although I prefer lottery houses such as megasena and quina than lottery betting services (for those who don't know, Lottoland is a betting service), I was very impressed with what they offer. Yes, you will not be able to participate in the lottery games they offer here, at least not officially, but I thought this was not a problem. The fact that Lottoland offers a vast collection of games also pays off handsomely. Another thing worth mentioning is the platform is 100% secure. Lotto blocked me 2 times because I use my credit card more than three times a day, this is very annoying because it is the only fastest way to place a bet. You are forced to turn to the bank slip which I more time-consuming. This disrupts your betting strategy because you want to bet now and at the time, not the reason for blocking your credit card, it is certain that it is a security issue more if your account is already verified not aproblem any. The first time they blocked me for 72 hours and this time for 48 ... Read more "

Making too many bets with a credit card ends up blocking you. Release only after 48 hours or more.
